From March 3rd to 13th, Patricia Deguara and her daughter Emmanuelle-Salambo Deguara will embark on an exceptional adventure: a trek in Patagonia. Accompanied by videographer Émile David, they will immortalize their journey in a documentary scheduled to premiere in early May.
At the heart of the Mother’s Day campaign, this project pays tribute to the courage and resilience of single mothers. As ambassadors, Patricia and Emmanuelle are using their expedition to support the cause, contributing to the Foundation’s visibility and fundraising to support families.
A cause that resonates with their experiences!
Emmanuelle is behind this project. As Head of Compliance and Legal Affairs at RGP Investissements, this running and mountaineering enthusiast wants to make a concrete contribution to the influence of Mères avec pouvoir by inspiring and raising awareness: “I wanted my next adventure to have an impact bigger than just me,” she explains.
The choice to get involved with Mothers with Power is no accident. Having been separated when her children were young and a real estate entrepreneur, Patricia fondly recalls the courage that single parenthood demands: “We experience loneliness, insecurity, and vulnerability. I believe it’s essential to give women the tools to propel themselves forward.”
“I have always encouraged the liberation of women, to be the bearers of our beliefs, our desires, and to remain true to ourselves.” – Patricia Deguara
Her philosophy? Live life as a gift. For her, our existence is a great celebration, despite the challenges. A state of mind her daughter admires: “She faced her fears and went for it. She’s resilient, ambitious, and generous. My mother gave her all in everything she did.”
An unparalleled complicity!
Behind this adventure, there is also (and above all) an exceptionally touching mother-daughter relationship, forged by shared passions. Since her daughter’s birth, Patricia has never hesitated to introduce her to new horizons.
Today, it’s Emmanuelle’s turn to give back to her mother: “Over the years, I’ve become aware of what an extraordinary woman my mother is, both professionally and personally. She had me at 23, an age I’ve now surpassed. Now it’s my turn to give her something. “
Their complicity is such that this trekking project came together in the blink of an eye: “A meeting with Mothers with Power, 15 minutes of discussion, and we said we’d go to Patagonia. I was already sure my mother would be up for it,” says Emmanuelle. Unsurprisingly, Patricia jumped on board without hesitation: “We’re adventurers, we challenge ourselves.”
When Manu told me we were leaving, I said yes without even looking. I trust him 1000%.”
“My daughter surpasses all my teachings. Sometimes I think I may have taught her too much (laughs). I see the fire in her eyes. She thrives on challenges, on her passions, with incomparable intensity, and I find that wonderful.” – Patricia Deguara
A sporting breakthrough in Peru
This isn’t the first sporting adventure for the two women. During a trip to Peru, they discovered a passion for the mountains together. For Patricia, who was joining her daughter there, it was a complete surprise: “I didn’t even know we were going to climb mountains; I’d brought sandals! Some people had been preparing for this climb for a year, and I arrived with a stick and a Peruvian hat (laughs).”
This experience remains one of their most beautiful trips together. Patricia describes a profound sense of freedom and well-being, etched in her memory: “We had a wonderful time together. Manu gave me a passion for the mountains.”
For Emmanuelle, it was the beginning of a passion for sport through travel. “My daughter ran 125 km in one day!” Patricia proudly recounts. Having already made three documentaries, Emmanuelle approaches the experience with serenity and optimism: it’s not about performance, but about surpassing oneself. “My mother goes with the flow, and it’s perfect. She excels in this kind of situation.”
Which won’t stop her mother from “always being in front,” her daughter says with a wry smile.
Patricia has a tip: “Just go for it, put one foot in front of the other. In Peru, I had no expectations, I breathed the mountain.”
A daughter’s gift to her mother
Beyond the sporting achievement and their commitment to the Foundation, the adventure they are about to embark on together has a special meaning. For Emmanuelle, it’s a way to give something exceptional to her mother and fulfill a dream: “I promised myself I’d take her on a trip. It was one of my life goals, to share this adventure with her.”
For her part, Patricia welcomes this initiative with emotion: “As a mother, having my daughter offer me this project is the greatest gift. It’s the ultimate accomplishment as a mother.” She concludes, with great sincerity: “I am immensely proud to be her mother. She fills me with happiness.”

The real estate market is currently booming. Transactions are moving quickly, and often at a competitive rate. But why do some properties stand out so much? Why do they sell so quickly and for such a high price?
To sell as quickly as possible, but above all to achieve the optimal value for your property, a few elements make a real difference, as Patricia Deguara, real estate expert, attests.
Here are 10 tips to make your home more attractive so you can sell it quickly, but most importantly, at the best price.
Lighten the rooms to give an effect of grandeur
To get the best price for your home, it's essential to present it in its best light. One of the first steps to doing this is to lighten the space. By removing anything superfluous, you create a sense of spaciousness, a feeling of openness, and clarity.
We feel good in an environment that breathes, and that's what we need to recreate at home.
Real estate expert Patricia Deguara, however, points out that one should not make the mistake of over-purifying: "If the house no longer has a soul, it's not better. You have to give it color, warmth, so that it shines."
Maintain a positive atmosphere
When lightening our decor, we must then ask ourselves the question: where do we want the eye to fall? Each object, each piece of furniture and each frame must be chosen with care in order to create a positive and pleasant atmosphere.
We also regularly hear that it's best to depersonalize spaces, but Ms. Deguara doesn't entirely agree with this statement. Obviously, a room shouldn't be cluttered. However, you can keep photos that represent happiness: "Young buyers like to know the story of the owners. They are attracted to beautiful stories; they want to live in happiness."
In Ms. Deguara's experience, in 80% of cases, it is the woman who makes the decision to buy. She must therefore be able to easily imagine herself in this setting and recreate her own nest, her cocoon.
Highlight the strengths that make your home unique
Inside and out, we focus on the strong points of our property, what makes it unique, what sets it apart: the welcoming kitchen, the windows, the size of the courtyard, the swimming pool, the terrace, etc.
We highlight every feature of the house and don't hesitate to recreate its decor even outside, for example by putting a plant on the terrace.
Create a space based on potential buyers

Next, we need to think about the environment in our home or the one we would like to recreate.
We must then ask ourselves who the target audience is. Depending on the potential buyers, we will focus on different elements. Who are we addressing: singles, young couples, families, etc.?
It's important to remember that "the wow factor happens in the first three minutes," adds Ms. Deguara. From the moment they walk in, we need to captivate our buyers. They need to be able to imagine themselves living in this home.
7 renovations to prioritize to increase the value of your home
Optimize brightness
Brightness is another crucial element in enhancing a property.
Make sure the windows are clear and that no curtains are blocking the light. In fact, heavy and opaque curtains should be removed. This can make a real difference in selling a home.
We also focus on lighting fixtures. Without necessarily changing them, we check that they provide the necessary light and that they give a beautiful character to the environment. We remember that, in the majority of cases, it is the woman who makes the final decision on whether or not to buy a home, and brightness is of the utmost importance to her.
Light is what makes a house shine, we make sure that it is optimal, both that which comes from outside and from the light fixtures.
Focus on neutral colors
Neutral colors also play an important role in selling a home. White is always a good option because it creates a sense of spaciousness and brightness. But, again, each of these tips must be used in moderation, as each home is unique.
Some homes feature dark-colored walls, which add warmth and coziness. It all depends on the location, the size of the rooms, and the decor.
Focus efforts on common areas
There's no point in spreading your efforts too thin; you need to focus them on common areas. The kitchen is an undeniable asset, as are the bathrooms.
The living room and bedroom, for their part, must offer maximum comfort so that the buyer can imagine themselves there. Place cushions here and there and make sure you have a beautiful, cozy bedspread. Add a beautiful plant to create an environment conducive to relaxation.
Conversely, there's no need to focus on storage spaces in the basement, garage, or shed. Of course, it may be appropriate to be able to move around there, but that's all.
Don't underestimate the impact of odors
To enhance your home's beauty, you should never neglect its scents. The power of smell can be both positive and negative.
For example, the smell of wet dog or hockey equipment can play nasty tricks on our minds. Conversely, a sweet-smelling candle or a chocolate cake will have a completely different effect.
Use beautiful photos of your home online
When listing a property, photos are of great importance. "Since COVID, buyers are choosing from their computer screens," says Ms. Deguara.
Our home is therefore selected for a viewing based on its photos, as a thorough screening is first performed on the screen. Each room must shine in the images. However, these must correspond to reality so that the viewing doesn't lead to disappointment.
Use the right words in your property description
Beyond images, the description of the property is important. Buyers want to find their own treasure, the property that stands out.
You have to charm people on every level and appeal to all their senses. You describe the house, but also the neighborhood, as well as all the advantages of the area.
Ask a real estate expert for advice
Finally, don't hesitate to seek advice from a real estate expert to gain a fresh perspective on your property. Sometimes, when you're looking to sell your home, you lose sight of its strengths. You also don't see how you could optimize the space in your rooms.
Real estate experts know exactly how to value a property. This way, you can get the best price for your home and sell it as quickly as possible.
